Choosing an outdoor ventilation grille well shapes two things: how the ventilation system performs over the building's entire service life, and how the facade looks from the street. A poorly chosen grille can cause leaks, noise, rust stains, or a careless finish that spoils an otherwise well-executed facade. An outdoor ventilation grille is a component with fixed louvers or technical perforations installed on the building's envelope. It performs four functions at once: air renewal (fresh air intake and stale air outlet), preventing moisture and condensation indoors where exposed to steam or humid air, physical protection against rain, insects, leaves, or small birds entering, and thermal control by enabling cross-ventilation when outdoor temperatures are favorable.

An outdoor grille is exposed to rain, wind, UV radiation, dust, and, in certain areas, coastal salinity or freeze-thaw cycles. Polyester-painted aluminum with polyester on both sides is the material most used on exterior facades in Spain precisely because it withstands all this well with no need for paint or later treatments.
